Friedrich

Sturmmarsch
for Piano

Extract
from the Preface, by Michael Krücker:
The “Sturmmarsch” (1863) in D flat major is a very interesting alternative to the more often played master pieces of that
kind. It is of a moderate degree of difficulty and due to its shortness it is near to the aphorisms
- a style of philosophical expression which Nietzsche loved to
use.
As a short encore or opening piece it will be a welcome
recovery! |

Zürcher Landzeitung, Stäfa:
"... in an extremely varied kaleidoscope.
Between vigorously tackled Rhapsodies by Brahms and a magically light and dancing Waltz by Alexander Glasunow, there is ample space for such superbly melodious rarities as the enticingly cantabile Arabesques Opus 61 by Moritz Moszkowski or for a Tango by Albeniz in the spectacular arrangement by Godowsky.
The full richness of Michael Krücker's delicate musical touch culminates in the Prélude from Debussy's Suite bergamasque.
Surely no German pianist since Gieseking has coaxed so much charm from this poetic piece.
Keen attentiveness to nuance and tonal subtlety flow too from the gracefully sophisticated presentation of Beethoven's Album Leaf "Für Elise", from the brilliantly performed Humoresque by Rodion Schtschedrin, and above all from the three Danzas argentinas by Alberto Ginastera, which the virtuoso from Krefeld transforms into a ravishing fireworks display full of explosive rhythms.
Walter Labhart"
Westdeutsche
Zeitung:
"... brilliantly light and sparkling, full of life and played with a
sensitive touch, a charm in the phrasing and an ease that make these
works-some of them performed only rarely-a subtle pleasure to listen
to."
Piano News:
"Expressive, technically flawless and with an exquisite lightness of touch, Michael Krücker offers his customary high musical
standard."

First piano composition by Michael Krücker now published!
"Memories" for solo piano, Friedrich Hofmeister Musikverlag Leipzig,
FH 3289
|
 |
Extract
from the Preface, by Michael Krücker:
"... Memories
- who isn't tempted by this invitation to recall and
relive the warmth of their best memories?
Reviving happy memories on an inner "desert island" can bring back the
sensations and feelings associated with them.
These piano pieces are intended as a retrospective that can arouse such
pleasant moods in both pianist and listener.
They are moderately difficult, straightforward to learn, and easy to
listen to."

piano music by Julius Röntgen:
Passacaglia and Fugue for
Piano, edited by Michael Krücker,
Friedrich Hofmeister Musikverlag, Leipzig, FH 3247 |
 |
Extract
from the Preface, by Michael Krücker:
"... the Passacaglia and Fugue in F-sharp-minor from the year 1911 is
both technically and musically demanding. The melodic imaginativeness
and the frequent change from melancholy to euphoria highlights Röntgen’s
compositional technique, in which part-writing is masterly finished.
The present composition is a very effective concert piece and a real
alternative to well-known pieces of this genre."
